Warriors, join us in congratulating our February members of the month, Shea Switch and Jenny Cardine! We asked them to share a little bit about their time here at Mighty Warrior and we hope you enjoy their answers as much as we did!
What's been your proudest moment at Mighty Warrior?
Jenny: Completing 8ft in my handstand walk. I could barely hold a handstand when I started, let alone make it 8ft forward.
Shea: Wearing a vest when I did Murph last year. Also, watching some of my friends I've mad get married and start families.
What's your favorite workout?
Shea: Anything with running or wall balls in it excites me. Oh, and lunges! I love lunges!
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
Jenny: I'd tell them I was hesitant too, but starting CrossFit was the best decision I've made for myself. It has helped me in so many areas in my life. Not to mention the community here is welcoming and I've never had so much fun or felt this supported in my fitness goals in my life. I feel anyone can be successful at CrossFit. My mom does it, my kids do it and my husband does it. We help each other, we support one another and we have fun doing it.
Shea: To try it. It is a great way to stay motivated, and push yourself. It's great when someone sees your potential and pushes you, and you succeed.
What's a fun fact about you that most Warriors might not know?
Jenny: I used to be a figure skater! I did competitive figure skating up until high school.
Shea: That I am a very shy person.
What's the next goal you're looking to achieve?
Jenny: Bar muscle-up
Shea: To continue to work hard, and to not allow my body to age gracefully.
Come one, come all. Is CrossFit really for everyone?
